1. What information we process

The Extension's sole purpose is to translate the content you choose into your target language. This involves the following two categories of information.

1.1 Information stored only on your device

The following is kept only in your browser and is never uploaded to any third party:

• Activation key: the license key you enter, stored in browser local storage (chrome.storage.local), used to verify your usage rights with our server.
• Device identifier: a random identifier generated locally on first use, used to enforce the "new-user trial" claim limit; it is stored only locally and is sent to our server only when you claim a trial.
• Preferences: such as target language, industry-glossary mode, custom glossary, and auto-translate sites — stored only locally.
• Translation cache: to avoid re-translating and to save quota, briefly cached in session storage (chrome.storage.session) and cleared when the browser closes.

1.2 Information sent to our server to provide translation

When you trigger a translation, the Extension sends the following to our translation proxy server (fanyi.xhcomponents.com) over an encrypted connection (HTTPS):

• the text, PDF text, or subtitle text you choose to translate, or the image you choose to recognize;
• your activation key (for identity and quota verification);
• your device identifier (when claiming a trial).

In addition, as with any network request, your IP address is visible to the server. We use it only to limit the number of devices per activation key (to prevent key resale/abuse) and to prevent abuse of the new-user trial — never for user profiling or advertising.

2. How we use this information

• to provide and improve translation, image / label recognition, and other core features;
• to verify the validity, remaining quota, and subscription status of your activation key;
• to limit the number of devices per key and to prevent repeated fraudulent trial claims;
• to measure usage (e.g., token consumption, number of calls) for billing and service operation.

3. Information sharing and third parties

To perform translation, our server forwards the content you submit to the following AI-model providers for processing:

• Text translation: DeepSeek;
• Image translation and label recognition: Alibaba Cloud Qwen (Tongyi Qianwen).

These providers process the content under their own privacy policies. Apart from this processing, which is necessary to provide the translation feature, we commit that we will:

• never sell or rent any of your information to third parties;
• never use it for advertising, or for any purpose unrelated to the Extension's core function;
• never use it to assess personal creditworthiness or for lending purposes;
• disclose information only when explicitly required by law.

4. Data storage and retention

• Content to be translated: used only to generate the translation in real time; our server does not store your original text or the translated text.
• Operational logs: we record only usage metadata (timestamp, activation-key prefix, model name, token count, status, and the IP used for abuse prevention), with no translation content, for billing and troubleshooting, retained for a reasonable period.
• Local data: your activation key, device identifier, and preferences are stored on your device; the translation cache is cleared when the browser closes. You may clear this local data at any time by clearing it in your browser or uninstalling the Extension.

5. Data security

• All communication with the server is transmitted over HTTPS encryption;
• the real third-party API keys are stored only on our server and are never delivered to the Extension or your device;
• your activation key is stored only on your local device, is not synced across devices, and is not uploaded to any third party.

6. Extension permissions

The browser permissions the Extension requests serve only the translation feature:

• Access to web-page content: to read and translate the text on the pages you browse;
• Storage: to save your settings and translation cache;
• Context menu: to provide "Translate selection";
• Script injection: to display translations on the page.

These permissions are used only to provide translation, not to collect any data unrelated to translation.

7. Your rights and choices

• You can modify or clear your preferences, glossary, and activation key in the Extension settings at any time;
• You can disable or uninstall the Extension at any time; local data is removed upon uninstall;
• You decide which pages to enable / disable auto-translation for;
• To delete the server-side usage records associated with your key, or for any privacy-related request, please contact us via the details below.

8. Children's privacy

The Extension is a professional tool for enterprise procurement and engineering scenarios and is not designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Policy updates

We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you via this page or an in-extension notice; please note the effective date at the top.
